5 Tips to Writing A Successful Business Blog

By Karina Tama

Do you know that writing content is important for SEO and Social Media? Do you want to start writing a business blog, but you don’t know how to start? Don’t be frightened! Just read this article and you will find the necessary tools to increase brand exposure and build authority by using a business blog.

First, you need to establish an audience. Therefore, you will write a business blog that will be read by whom? It can be read by people of a specific age, industry, income, etc. When you answer that question, you can be successful by providing information on the specific group’s interest. For example, I write to attract local businesses. They need help with Internet Marketing so I write about subjects such as: SEO, Social Media, Reputation Management, ROI, etc.

It’s also important to find out what time your audience is more likely to check their mobile phones and see your blog posting. For example, what time works for you? In my case, 1:00 pm at lunchtime or 5:00 pm after work, works well for me. You should use some tools to manage your blog traffic. You can install a plugin in your WordPress. This will help you obtain your analytics.

Second, set up a goal for your blog. Ask yourself: What I want to get out of my blog? What my audience is looking for in my posting? Then you can take part and write about the subjects that your audience is looking for. Blogging is not a tool to sell. Social Media is a way to get exposure and recognition. You will build authority and get confidence from prospect customers. “Blogging and social media have never been the best ways to directly sell to others” by Mack Collier.

A blog is used to inform and update the audience. If you get conversions from your blog, it’s a bonus. You can write to inform and engage with your audience. It will build trust, and then sales will follow.

Third, you have to use keywords in your blog. You need to pick a subject that relates to your industry. Target one keyword for each blog. You can use WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin. It works well in blogs with target keywords. This tool will give you information about how many keywords you need to have in your blog.

Furthermore, to find keywords you can use SEMrush software. It will provide you with all the target keywords of your competitors and the industry. Then use the keyword in the title, in the first sentence of your blog, and in the last paragraph.

Last but not least, how often should you post blogs? In the beginning, I will recommend to write a blog per day. This task is quite overwhelming, but it will pay off. When you start writing and posting blogs, you are building awareness of the brand, giving information, and getting followers. In this stage, you will figure out what works and what doesn’t work, such as: the subjects, the titles, the time of posting, the views you get. After a couple of months that you have been posting blogs, you can start to write less.

At this point, you will know what your audience likes and dislikes. Then your writing will optimize and customize for your audience

I hope these tips help you in this new adventure. Enjoy the trip and get the most out of it. Don’t get desperate in the beginning if you don’t have a lot of views. Eventually you will have readers. Don’t forget that “Blogging is a journey,” by Heidi Cohen
